Cabin Colors

I’m in favor of creating a little more color in this world. Nature gives us so many great examples, the intense yellow of an Oriole, the soft pink of the lady Slipper, or the majestic blue of a flax field in bloom.

A decade ago a friend asked what color her cabin front door should be as she stood in front of the unpainted door wearing a purplish blue fleece vest. “Your vest color, blueberry, of course,” I stated with professional authority. Now, where can I employ moss green?

I’ve just ventured from Ely, Minnesota visiting my fourth cabin where I specified a blueberry door. This color is such a great accent to stained or greying wood and the perfect way to put a smile on your guests face.
