The owners of this Dutch Colonial love their St. Paul neighborhood and wanted to do an addition/remodel so they could remain in their existing house without having to climb steps on a regular basis. They also wanted their house to become more accessible for their handicapped son and needed to replace their crumbling garage.
Some of the Green Building strategies employed on this project include beautifully melding the new with the old, reuse of salvaged door and windows on the garage, French drain for water conservation, new high-efficiency furnace and high R-value and air sealing using closed-cell spray-foam insulation.
