Cottage on Sand Creek

Designed by Paul Buum

This second home is sited on the fly-fishing stream of Sand Creek in the northern Black Hills. Built to replace a long-time family cabin, original materials such as log siding, doors and furnishings were recycled and reused throughout the new structure. The home’s perimeter stone wall defines public and private terraces offering many views of the creek, canyon and arrival road. This house and site will continue the family traditions for its current and future generations.
