Buss Residence

Designed by Bryan Anderson

with Marcy Townsend

This mid-century gem was reinvented for a 21st century lifestyle. At the center of the home, the kitchen was reconfigured into an open, streamlined L shape. Both bathrooms and laundry also were altered to improve form and function.

A home office, pantry and screen porch were added under the existing roofline, replacing an underutilized three-season porch while retaining its lightness and transparency. Just prior to construction, the home was selected as the ASID Showcase Home for 2009, and nearly 40 designers set to work on finishing each room with period-inspired designs, creating a polished and functional home for a modern family.
