Western Wisconsin Residence

Designed by Wayne Branum
with Deb Kees

Designed as a retirement home, this 2,200-square-foot residence used the existing footprint and exterior framework of a typical 1950s rambler to extend upward, accentuating views to the river below. The new upper level uses sliding fusuma doors, a custom-built tokonoma and the view to provide both flexibility and focus. Natural materials, the color palette and the cabinetry design reflect the lifestyle and personality of the owners.
