This project tells the story of a humble abode undergoing a metamorphosis. Entitled Crow’s Roost, this transformational renovation entailed replacing a tiny half-story with a full second level. Located in Minneapolis’ vibrant Linden Hills neighborhood, the project’s evolution redefined the home’s possibilities while honoring its historical roots.
The heart of the home comes alive in the cheery kitchen. Infused with character and charm, this space is a canvas of vibrant oranges and pinks, peppered throughout the design. These hues dance merrily, invoking a sense of joy and inspiration, reminding us that every corner of a home can be a source of delight.
Playfulness and elegance are balanced, and modernity seamlessly embraces tradition. The new full second level extends a warm invitation to ample sunlight, fostering a sense of interior openness while providing new bedrooms and preserving the neighborhood’s character. This marriage of old and new is emblematic of a philosophy that architecture should be a reflection of life’s dynamic, ever-evolving narrative.
