Set on a beautiful parkway of 1950’s houses, the homeowner’s bought this property with ideas to restore, update, and revive the house with a more modern character. The Kitchen and Family Area are enlarged by only 2 feet, allowing a new central island. This addition is set off with an exposed steel beam and column defining the kitchen’s new workspace and glass doors opening to the backyard. A full height storage pantry and prep sink allow the kitchen to have full view glass overlooking the backyard. Updated conveniences of a new Mudroom and Garage make their everyday entry more pleasant and functional, and a new Bar and Family Room with larger windows update the existing basement. Finally the modest addition connects the house to the backyard with a new Terrace, fire pit and hot tub.
